Think you would be pushed to get it through the standard hook gauge John, so a Griffiths Gnats out.  I think Mr C would be tying his favorite black and green zonker in great big size or if all else fails you have a decent anchor there mate.

Tie a chicken on it and use it for those big Blagdon Pike maybe? I guess you may need more than an AFTM 5 rod to cast it though. Give it to Kev. to tie a sedgehog on - could source raw material from roadkill - nuff said!

We used to use gaffs to land spring salmon 50 years ago I remember. (I believe some disreputable Scottish chappie's used to use them for the same reason without going to the bother of catching the salmon on a line first - best done in the dark I understand)!? Thanks for the replies Mark and I are going to Ireland he made some shark traces up.

Could use it as an anchor for the tube I guess.
