Thanks for that John. What a superb piece of kit?! I knew that the Dutch guys who advertise as "Floattubes.co.uk" were about to release a very sophisticated unit perhaps this is it.  I'm definitely impressed by the apparent driving power that the propulsion unit appears to produce.

Is it you who has been releasing alligators into Chew to liven the water up a bit?

It is in a new home not too far from me isn't it - the Witney area. As long as it stays there I'm fine with that!

A lot of interesting stuff on here Tony. The rod holder is well worth a look and is the cheapest I have seen anywhere - it looks similar to the ones I brought back from the USA a few years ago.

Not interested in the hovercraft though! I built one fifty years ago and they are noisy and absolute s**ds to steer - you wouldn't make many friends out for a quiet days fishing with one of those! I'll stick to refining my motor system. I note the site you flagged up sells Minn Kota motors - It's very difficult to get one of that brand under 40lbs thrust, which is too much for a float tube, especially when considering the amperage draw on a battery.
