From our point of view, yes this is still on. I will check with Ifor this week to check that the venue is fishable (water level/launch possible) and the boat guys are organised. Having spoken to Steve F we are also looking to double this meeting as the pairs event. I will confirm everything next week.

Hi all,
I have confirmed with Ifor that we are good to go for the SP Memorial on Sat. Sept 7th at Thornton. Due to the loss of a couple of fixtures through adverse weather I propose that, as we have in the past, we double this one up as the pairs competition. Should the boat anglers fail to put a team out against us then we still have our own event for the records.

Hope you are all ok with this and are able to support. I will put some light refreshments on for after the competition to give us time to gloat over the boat anglers as normal !

Additionally there is a free weekend the following Saturday - anyone fancy Toft ? Personally I won't be able to make it as I'm flying to Portugal but I'd be happy to book it for you if you want me to.

Sign up for either or both to let me know what numbers to confirm.

Thanks Andre.

Good news and bad news - first the good we are on for the competition we seem to be low on numbers so if there are any more please indicate that you will attend.

The not too bad news - Thornton is un-fishable due to high water temperature & blue / green algae so Ifor has suggested we switch to the Eyebrook.

Bacon butties will be available to all attendees.

Fished the Eyebrook today. Took six fish and had plenty of other pulls. Water was stocked just before lunch so prospects for Saturday look good. Weather forecast is ideal. Cooler temperatures this week and light winds forecast for Saturday.

Bacon butties will be available before we launch.

Good news on the fishing prospects Andre. Looking forward to bacon butties as there are a dearth of potential breakfast places on my journey!
