Hi Gang !
Not that any of you will rush out to do a bit of Pike Fishing but.....
There has been a 41 pounder caught at Thrybergh !!!
Wish it was me who was the captor as I've been trying to catch those toothy Critters this Autumn /Winter.

See you all soon.

I only catch small ones on Soldier Palmer the big ones I just lean over the side of the tube, put my hand under the water and tickle the big ones then lift them out. You should try it sometime.

It would be really good if the website was working properly - I have pictures of both the Thrybergh pike, and the pretty impressive large fish that John caught a few days ago, but I cannot get them on this site, (YET AGAIN)!

Wouldn't it be nice if we had a New Year's gift of a fully functioning website? Apparently the upload folder is full this time!

Dave, it would be good if you could send us a few photos of yourself and maybe Phil finning around in his Growler float tube and tickling pike - at least I could add them to my collection for future reference. I guess fencing gloves are the handwear necessary for this past-time - when I think what a small pike ungraciously did to my fingers at Elinor a couple of years ago as I unhooked it.

For interest, the pike that surfaced next to me at Blagdon a year or so ago, looked even bigger than the photo of the Thrybergh leviathon - so they are out there on our trout waters. I hope the fish from Thrybergh got that big from eating the cormorants rather than the trout stocks!? Mind you, from past experience, there are all sorts of things that swim down the arm of Thrybergh that would be best used as pike food!

I posted above that the site is not accepting pictures yet again!!!  Roll Eyes

Pity! It's a big fish - although there is another picture of a big pike caught by one of our Northern experts, which looks a prettier fish. I also tried posting that for the edification of our members, but was equally unsuccessful.

BASIL!!!!! Get the web man and give him a good kicking please!  Grin  Cry
