MATTERS ARISING:
There are no matters arising from the 2012 AGM

SECRETARY / TREASURER REPORT: Number of paid up members stands at 71. This is an increase on 2012, 23 members are based in the South, 4 are in Scotland and the balance are in the Midlands and the North. There has been an increase in Trade Membership with Snowbee, Lockwood Beck and Ladybower now being members.

This year’s competitions were well attended. We visited a couple of new venues including Lockwood Beck and Ladybower; both venues gave us very good feedback from our visit. Ladybower in particular is important as it is under the control of Severn Trent - to win over a major W.A. could bode very well for the future of our sport. Our thanks go to all members that attended this year’s events it made for a very enjoyable and successful season.

In terms of finance we have £1004.57 cash on hand. The largest expense this year has been £576.00 for web administration, and the Anglers Trust membership at £329.00. With cash in-hand, the meeting agreed to leave the membership fee at £10.

Kev Primmer requested that we have two new cheque signatories for the next year. Russ Whitmore and Tony Parker were proposed as these are in regular contact with Kev. The meeting agreed this.

The Chairman proposed acceptance of the balance sheet, seconded Tony Parker - meeting agreed.

CHAIRMANS REPORT:
2013 will go down as a notable year for float tubing and the association. The death of Steve Parton – the founder of float tubing in the UK and one of the initial gang of six or so anglers that started the BFTA – was a complete shock to us all. His insightful, witty and sometimes forthright views and support will be sadly missed.

On a positive note though, the inaugural Steve Parton Memorial trophy Match held here at Thornton was an outstanding success. Pitting float tubes against boat anglers, the competition would I’m sure be something Steve would have been proud to be associated with. By supporting this match every year we will ensure Steve’s memory lives on, may he rest in peace.

The domestic season for 2013 was once again very successful. It is very pleasing this year to report that it has been a good year for the stalwarts; Dave Carrie travels to virtually every event and even continued on one match after a two and a half hour break to visit a local A&E to have a fly removed from his finger. Dave took the Thrybergh Open trophy this year with a very nice bag of fish from this very prolific water. Congratulations to Dave.

Kev Primmer is one of the hard workers of the BFTA, his personal endeavour has seen us gain access to the SW Water Authority reservoirs. Kev is a consistent angler and this year he is rewarded with Chairman’s Pairs Trophy an honour, he shares it with the very able and affable Steve Frakes, another member that attends every possible event – well done guys.

The premier title goes to my right hand man Steve Naylor. Steve is a proper team player in every way – an asset to both the sport and the BFTA. I am pleased to announce that Steve is this years BFTA Champion and he receives the Jim Clements Trophy.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS: It was proposed by Ric Dunnett and seconded by Jez Dye that the incumbent officers be re-elected en-bloc. The meeting carried this proposal.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS: Venues for 2013 were discussed and an outline plan established. Kevin Primmer will firm up some dates and publish a preliminary calendar on the forum.

Andre Russell will talk again with Rutland Water to see if we can get an event for June next year.

The Chairman asked all members to read the HSE notes that have been updated on the web-site.

Andre Russell
Chairman
