Hi
I am a float tube virgin  Shocked and would like to enter this competition if allowed. I promise not to burden anybody once I am afloat. What time do you meet?

Thanks

HI Andy,
All BFTA members are eligible to enter the comps. We normally meet at 9am to give time for setting up, but don't normally launch till 10. unless everyone is ready then we launch a little earlier. and weigh in at 4pm. They are a good bunch of lads that go and don't mind giving assistance if required. Its a friendly comp and we have a good bit of light hearted banter. They will probably be gentle with you on your first meeting but after that be ready for a bit mickey taking. Looking forward to meeting you.
                                     Cheers Dave C

Hi Dave
I am really looking forward to meeting you and the rest of the guys. After a lifetime in the RAF I am well used to being given banter especially when fly fishing in a boat for 8 hours at a time. At least when tubing you are on your own and can find a corner somewhere to duck and weave the incoming flak.  Grin

A big thanks to all of you for all the tips and advice. I really enjoyed myself and look forward to the next match. Hopefully the weather will not be as bad and I will be able to fish nearer to you as opposed to speeding over the lake in record time only to spend 3 times as long getting back to the launch point Grin

Thanks again
