After much discussion I have failed to ascertain whether we will have to pay the £10 launch fee that Anglian water seem to have imposed. So by popular demand I have called in at the Eyebrook and made a provisional booking.
So for Ravensthorpe please now read EYEBROOK, SATURDAY AUGUST 2ND.
Subject to confirmation tomorrow, the Eyebrook are very happy to host us for our pairs competition. They have no launch fee. The ticketing is based on catch and kill, catch & release is allowed.
A full day ticket costs £24, concessions £18, bag limit is 6 from the tube.
We can have an evening ticket if we prefer to fish the afternoon session as wedid last year, this will cost £16.
All in all a much better deal than we were being offered down the road.
For those travelling there is a Travel lodge at Morcott on the A47.
Let me know your thoughts, I will finalise details tomorrow with Andy Miller and confirm.
Andre.

Brian and I would have to stay overnight which would cost more than £10. so will have to give it some thought. also if it is a day comp. we would book b&b for Friday night but if it was an evening comp. we would have to book for Saturday night. Dave C

Sounds good to me would we go for the 6 fish ticket now that we don't have to bother with the ridiculous Ravensthorpe ticket rules and have the combined bag weights to sort out the pairs

Have changed the competitions table in favour of Eyebrook.
Pity about Ravensthorpe but hopefully somebody will see sense one day soon!
Be careful entering or travelling through Rockingham on the way to Eyebrook, they have some very avaricious speed cameras - especially when coming round the bend at the top of the hill!

As much as I (used to) love Ravensthorpe, I think they have now gone too far, £10.00 launch fee is just greed. Eyebrook is good for me.

I'd be in favour of this suggestion, makes life a lot easier.
The stocking policy has changed so reverting to a day competition rather than an evening one also works for me, as you know Saturday nights are nights out with the boss and she's already mentioned that we (read I) are supposed to be cooking dinner for her new aqua aerobics friend and her husband - oh well, if I cant attend it'll give someone else the chance of a trophy and some valuable championship points :-)

Dave, we have always had championship points on the pairs comp. The individual points runs in conjunction with the pairs comp.
