Sign up below for this great challenge competition held in remembrance of our great friend Steve. This is a float tube versus Thornton boat fishermen match which we won last year. A good turnout here would be appreciated.

Certainly do young man ! Looking a bit thin on the ground for our team, come on lads get your name down I dont want to hand that trophy over to the boaters particularly after the amount of grief I gave them last year.

I have put a poster up in the Thornton Lodge today so the boat guys will be putting a team together. Tony's favourite boat fisherman was there and he seems determined to get a better team together for this years meeting so come on guys get your names down and lets give it to them again.

Fished Thornton last Saturday, the fishing has been hard with less than 1 fish per angler being recorded over the past weeks. I did announce on my arrival that once the good anglers got back on the water the averages would climb and so it came to pass.

I took a 4 fish ticket, killed my 4, lost 2 others and had 3 perch. Our local boat rivals spent the whole day anchored up around each other with their fish finders and manged 4 fish between 8 anglers. Drifting was vital to catching, unfortunately it wasn't subtle, then again I don't suppose you would expect that of me. Cats Whisker Booby and Tequilla FAB on a HiD.

Latest report shows a slight improvement on the catch rate and some anglers reporting fish taking dries particularly daddies. May give it a go again this Saturday but I am also really tempted by Elinor who are reporting over 4 fish per angler all to top of the water tactics.
